Only two weeks left till July 31 – August 1 event “Samsonas Rally Rokiškis“. It will be second event of Lithuanian rally championship, first event of Latvian rally championship and „Baltic Rally Trophy“ championship.
Entry list is increasing daily with new teams. List of fastest Lithuanian rally sportsmen, Latvian champions and participant from other countries is getting longer with every day.
Although COVID-19 “wave” affected plans of some teams to come to Lithuania sportsmen from other less affected countries shows their interest in participating.
One of registration forms for “Samsonas Rally Rokiškis“ was filled by Hubert Laskowski and Michal Kusnierz. Interesting fact is that pilot Hubert Laskowski is only 14 years old.
Born in 2006 kid started his career in carts. He participated in races in Poland, Czech Republic, Italy. In 2008 Hubert sat into “Peugeot 208 R2” rally car and started racing in rally sprint competitions in Czech Republic. He won 1st place at once in 2WD count, later on – overall as well.
Last season Hubert Laskowski had new experience in Latvia on gravel surface. He competed in mini rally and won in Junior count. This year sportsman is also looking for opportunities to improve his skill. However, plans were destroyed by lack of snow and cold and canceled winter events in Latvia. Then young driver started preparing for season in Beszczady mountains (Poland). Cycle of his workout was monitored by legendary rally driver from Poland Kajetan Kajetanowicz.
After this workout cycle Hubert Laskowski was preparing for start in “Rally Liepaja” but event was postponed. So “Samsonas Rally Rokiškis“ will be Hubert`s first start after this complicated period.
„We are looking for places where our young driver would be able to improve his skills. We want to drive as long as possible stages, makes as much kilometres as possible. Hubert has very experienced co – driver Michal Kusnierz. They both will start in your rally.
We want Hubert would make rally to the end without mistake or any problems and would gain experience. Improving of pacenote skills is also very important in every race. Good pacenotes are very important to young driver. And of course most important are kilometres“ – said delegate of team Andrian Wronkowski.
Hubert Laskowski will be driving well known for him „Peugeot 208 R2” with “Car Speed Racing” service team from Cieszyn (Poland).
Young Polish rally star has plans to participate in all event of Latvian and Lithuanian rally championships this season. However, dates of some event are very close to each other so team will have to make choices. As delegate of teams says, everything depends on team`s budget. Adrian Wronkowski is honest that team is looking for new partners willing to help young rally talent to grow.
