„Samsonas Rally Rokiškis 2021”: what’s new for spectators and participants?

August 6 – 7 third event of Lithuania automobile rally championship will take place in Rokiškis and Zarasai area. Entries of rally sprint championship will also participate. Organizers of „Samsonas Rally Rokiškis“ inform that this year they will prepare some news.

As two months left till „Samsonas Rally Rokiškis“ organizers work at full speed. Although most of tasks are formal procedures organizers announce that this year race will be a little bit different due to Special Stages.

Rally will joint two districts – Rokiškis and Zarasai. Although rally organizer Audrius Gimžauskas doesn‘t name specific Special Stages but agreed to disclose part of the information.

„First day of rally we will suggest best Special Stages in Zarasai area for participants and spectators. More information on them will be announced soon. We are happy notifying that this year rally will again take place in two districts. We will also have Special Stage in Rokiškis town with and artificial jump.

Second day of rally will be around Rokiškis. There will be some innovations in Special Stages this year. One new really impressive spectators‘ zone. We can say only that much by now. However, I kindly invite all the rally fans start planning this weekend in the area. We are happy that restrictions for events are getting more and more lighter. And so we will be able everybody willing to watch rally. I am sure that everybody misses rally“ stated Audrius Gimžauskas.

First ever „Samsonas Rally Rokiškis“ took place in 2017. Latvian Janis Vorobjovs won the race. Later, two years in a row Vaidotas Žala was the fastest one. Last year Russian sportsman Nikolay Gryazin celebrated the victory in race around Rokiškis and Zarasai districts.

In 2018 “Samsonas Rally Rokiškis“ gathered together sportsmen from 15 different countries. Although this year it might be quite difficult to achieve such a statistic due to pandemic situation, organizers will put as much efforts as possible so spectators would have a chance to see fastest Lithuanian sportsmen as well as sportsmen from neighbour countries and rally starts from Europe.
