Already on July 25-27, the fourth event of the Lithuanian automobile rally championship “CBet Rally Rokiškis” will take place in Rokiškis and its surroundings. This is the longest event in the entire calendar, as the crews will have to overcome more than 140 kilometres of Special Stages here. In addition, Organisers promise a number of surprises that will certainly not leave anyone indifferent.
Organised in Rokiškis and its surroundings for the eighth time in a row “CBet Rally Rokiškis” competition every year surprises spectators and participants with various news and the most unexpected ideas of the organisers. Audrius Gimžauskas, a long-time racer and now the organiser of this rally, agreed to tell more about what ambitions have been turned into reality and what spectators and participants can expect here on July 25-27.
“We always try to make an exceptional event. In terms of kilometers, we are the biggest and longest rally. There will be as many as 143 sports kilometers. This is almost one and a half of a normal rally. Five Special Stages will be prepared for the first day, ten more for the second day. We succeeded to find ten unique Special Stages.
Both the first and the second day of the rally will be crowned by everyone’s favourite City Special Stage. “Power Stage” will be the thirteenth Special Stage, which will feature the legendary jump of Vaidotas Žala.
We also have a new, very attractive location that will take place on the second day of the rally. Participants will enter the quarry on the 7/9 speed section, where an artificial jump will be prepared. It is a very convenient place for spectators, where a spectator area with all the infrastructure will be installed. It will definitely be worth watching the rally here, because this place is guaranteed to have excellent visibility and there will definitely be some nice jumps.
Another innovation, which has not been seen not only here, but also, probably, in no other rally in Lithuania – Special Stages, which will take place at the same intersection. The intersection will be divided in half by barriers. The cars will come one against the other, only the participants of one speed section will turn in one direction, and the others will turn in the other direction. Thus, being at this location, spectators will be able to see two Special Stages with different configurations of that location. However, this place is not accessible by side roads, so it will be possible to get here only before the Special Stage is closed,” said Audrius Gimžauskas.
Traditionally, the heart of the rally will be at the Independence Square in the center of Rokiškis, where the participants’ service area and rally headquarters will be located. The opening ceremony of the rally will also take place here, where the participants will drive through the starting arch. As Audrius Gimžauskas claimed, the rally will feature not only innovations, but also already tested experiences and solutions. One of them is the partnership with AGIA – Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Importers.
“Next to all the news, we also have things that have become a tradition. We are very happy that this year, like last year, the Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Importers (AGIA) is joining us again. They will again take care of sustainability and set up an area in the service park for the sorting of automotive waste, which is sure to occur during the rally. These are also various parts, oils, other technical fluids”, said Audrius Gimžauskas.
The organisers of “CBet Rally Rokiškis” will also provide a rich concert program. On Friday, the audience will be treated to a concert by Augustė Vedrickaitė, and on Saturday, after the prize-giving ceremony evening will be crowned by amazing fireworks a performance by the band “8 Kambarys” on the territory of Rokiškis Manor.
