9 – 10 of August “Samsonas Rally Rokiškis“ will be organized in Rokiškis area for the third time in a row. Best Lithuanian teams as well as sportsmen from abroad will compete here. This time we will pay attention to one of participants from Finland.
Nominal rally partner and one of organizers Martynas Samsonas communicates a lot with Finnish sportsmen by himself. He confirmed that spectators will have a chance to see legendary Finn participant of WRC Toni Gardemeister. This driver is well known for elder rally fans.
“Toni promised to comeback to rally. We will provide him with the same BMW he drove last year. I hope that spectators will enjoy his performance. Toni is legend of Rally Finland, therefore I am happy that our spectators will have a chance to see such a sportsman”- said Martynas Samsonas.
Toni Gardemeister now is looking for new young sportsmen and does trainings for them after he had finish active sport career. He is happy with the opportunity to race in Rokiškis again. Rally legend liked Special Stages and all the rally atmosphere in Rokiškis.
“My pleasure to get invitation to rally in Lithuania again. Last year we didn’t finish the race. Car broke down in the middle of rally. So this year we will do our best to finish the competition. I liked Special Stages in Rokiškis. They are fast, technical. So we gave a promise to organizers that we will come. I hope to succeed this year better and that spectators will see us in all Special Stages”- said Toni Gardemeister.
Martynas Samsonas also mentioned that more fast Finns will come to “Samsonas Rally Rokiškis“. Some of them have already confirmed their participation. However negotiations are still in process with some. About one more fast sporstman from Finland in „Samsonas Rally Rokiškis“in next article.
